For the past 16 years Carissa has been working in health and healthcare as a clinical nurse, in project and portfolio management, and now in consulting. For the past two years she has had the privilege of receiving tutelage under the korowai o ngā Kaumatua and Kuia o Te Whiringawhā - an exponential learning curve in both Te Kauwae i Runga me Te Kauwae i Raro.

Carissa has a willing mind and pair of hands, and believes she still has a great deal to learn from our elders (and equally our tamariki). Living under Ngā Kawa o te Whiringawhā she brings a willingness to share her knowledge and skill sets with love and respect to this mahi, in active contribution to preparing for the future of our whānau, hapū and iwi.
