Specialising in clinical leadership, risk management, and quality care, Kimihia is dedicated to improving health outcomes—particularly for Māori. Her passion lies in people-centred care, and she has worked across a range of services, including kaupapa Māori health.
Committed to self-determination and equity, Kimihia supports whānau to overcome barriers to wellness. She champions system transformation to better serve Māori and aligns her innovative approach with Hei Āhuru Mōwai’s mission to eliminate cancer inequities and improve outcomes for whānau Māori.
“Ko te matepukupuku ki te pō, ko te whānau Māori ki te ao mārama.”
Deeply connected to her cultural roots, Kimihia values time with her whānau as personally impacted by cancer, as she faced the loss of her grandmother to cancer at a young age and supported her tuakana during their cancer diagnosis and treatment. This personal experience drives her to be a tireless advocate for health equity. Kimihia hopes her work inspires positive change and helps pave the way toward a healthier future for all.
